Made in Abyss - Vol. 8 Ch. 50 - The Cradle of Greed

So basically Faputa has a power of creation?
It is also not possible that she also created the village at this point.
I also think that the creature die since faput does not know how biology works.
It's also possible that most of the narehate in the village was created by faputa at this point

Untill now i used to present this title to friends like "Dora the explorer visits R'Lyeh" but now this is going so dark that the fluffy moments can't balance the story.

@Liquidxlax: maybe her children grant wishes (when eaten), and they grow to become the black blob that surrounds the village, which is why the village can grant wishes, because it is made of her children, my guess is that at some point eating her children became unnecessary and it was replaced with trading and bartering.

@KarmaKyuupin they are probably supper boring like leaving the stove on and having your kitchen catch fire.

Am I the only one who thinks Faputa is this girl but with a name change??? Or maybe she is the one real daughter of Iru-something.

At any case good for them for getting out of that pitch. I was thinking they could use the meat of the dead things for food and here they go and do it! And it even heals them lmao Messed up but efficient.

Too bad is seemly gonna bite them in the ass later but the abyss is like australia anyways; constantly trying to kill you.

The damned thing is called GREED. The wish fulfillment power definitely has catch. You can give birth (the literal wish)... but you cant have the babies (the implied wish). I'll guess the implication is that the infected shall eternally chase that wish and suffer forever. And to add to that, if you take anything from the embodiment of greed, you'd be in its debt and forever pay for it. Which makes sense, seeing how everyone now are trapped in their village forever chasing an unreachable dream.

since veko was opposed the creation of the village and was surprised that she still had a human form (and was also the closest to irumyuui before she became a narehate), i wonder if she'll be able to leave the village and become a travel companion. are the ones faputa wants to eliminate everyone in the narehate village or just belafu and wazukyan (for eating her babies and feeding them to everyone prolly)?

@KarmaKyuupin we are all capable of imagining the greatest and the worst of things. Luckily the author has created the greatest of terrifying things and unified them into a dark story that will probably have no happy ending for anyone except those who leave the island of abyss

Jesus Christ she's turning into an abomination. Jesus Christ, she wished to have babies. Jesus Christ, the baby died. JESUS CHRIST, SHE'S HAVING INFINITE ABORTIONS! JESUS CHRIST THEY ATE THE FUCKING ABORTIONS!

What a rollercoaster. This was definitely the hardest to stomach of all chapters so far. It was even worse than Mitty's transformation and Bone Druid's Extra Concentrated Loli Juice™. From the start, it was a given that the village was not as great as it first seemed, but it went beyond all expectations I had. Bravo, Tsukushi.

I guess what she had asked Reg for was that he'd burn the whole village down to the ground.

Aaah, what is this warm, fuzzy feeling of despair? Everyone's talking about how the next chapter involves 'revelation' about fetus-eating fetish the village developed, and my only reaction is "Huh, that's what I thought too".

From all the spilling loli, squeezing Mitty, and punching Meinya until its intestine prolapse, I'll call this manga "Doing Unspeakable Things to Cute Things" as an alt name.

Seems like the story is to have disturbing shit happen for the sake of having disturbing shit.

Kinda boring in a way, because it's predictable.
