Please remember that Hajime no Ippo is a pretty popular manga and that it would be no surprise whatsoever if it was to be referenced here, as it has been in other manga before as well.

Then why are you taking such offense to someone offering another possible option? I could understand if I had said definitively that you were wrong and my supposition was right, but that's not what happened. In fact I even acknowledged that Hajime no Ippo is probably the only way most people even know about Dempsey. Sorry to have caused such offense.

And yes, I know HnI is pretty popular. Very few works would make it 126+ volumes without having some popularity. Heck, I personally read the first 80 volumes years ago before I took a bit of a break from reading manga.

@ZaxaPac You may not have intended it, but fact is you didn't really pay full attention to my statement as when I used "maybe" I was already acknowledging that possibility of it being another boxer. I have a bad habit of being a bit snark when something I feel is pretty obvious gets missed.
