Which stars are they? The nearest binary systems are Alpha Centuari an Sirius. Alpha Centuari's two main stars are of similar size, while Sirius' stars have a significant size difference(one being a white dwarf). Also they mention that they have a large number of names. So I believe that they are Sirius A and Sirius B.
