Your maths are not correct.

That's like saying, bring a bomb on a plane just to be safe from an actual bombing because what are the chances that TWO people bring one.

Chances don't stack like that. Lightning strike and car accident have no causal relationship, you don't suddenly become less likely to get struck (as in, fulfill the coincidence of both events) just because you just had a crash.
