Magi Craft Meister - Vol. 1 Ch. 1 - Let's Go

@Pokari - that wasn't a high-up building. It was some kind of factory with something hazardous (like a vat of molten metal) down there, if I remember the novel correctly.
Also, MC was more of a jack-of-all-trades than a professional.

@marcyvq - quality of manga is fine. Quality of translation is lacking. I wish somebody would make a more polished version.

@flannan: If anything, it being a factory makes the idea more eyebrow-raising. What's the Japanese equivalent of OSHA...? XD

A handyman working in such places frequently would definitely be at least aware of safety stuff even if they routinely and unprofessionally ignored it; conversely if this wasn't his usual sort of gig, that also doesn't speak kindly of the choices made leading to the situation.

To be clear, my premise isn't that the situation is unrealistic; my premise is that for this to be the nature of the accident, someone (the protagonist or the person who hired him) would have to be grossly negligent.

@Pokari - I have to agree, the accident is definitely the result of a breach of safety protocols. Possibly caused by protagonist doing the Japanese thing of working too much.
But definitely related to that gap in railing Jin fell through. And no second person being present on-site to cover for any gaps in attention Jin had.
