The first chapter sets it up quite well and hypes up as well, but we all know that unless something major pops up it will just become a shitfest later on in the chapters (i will still read it as im a waste disposal machine after all) but just maybe, just maybe the author has an ace up his sleve, maybe the protag becomes evil or starts seriously competing with the lead or something! We can only hope!
