When a new chapter is out.

Hmmm given the cover it would be safe to say that the maou is a guy as well, right?

@chenando1 Yeah I think so too, although that would beg the question of why not turn himself into a male villain then, since the cover doesn't really make it look like it was intentional even though he made the app himself.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAiiii Love it!!!!!
I also want that App!!!
Thank you for this wonderful manga!

Who bets she's that Asaba guy who wasn't too friendly with the protagonist in chapter 12?

@Nevos But didn't she design an app called "Maou Shoujo"? That would mean he really wanted to be a Dark Magical Girl... or perhaps the name was changed after the initial "failure" ?

I was wondering about updates for this series just early today.
Naisu taimingu da

LARPers gonna LARP.
It's cute how they are not taking each other as enemies all that seriously.

well don! I think SFX redrawn should not be done, evem more if they are actually drawn, it make them part of the art ... just add a sfx note it's ok XD
also thanks for continuing

Honestly, this Kaiserk 'girl' 's motivations and opinions on this "evil vs good" trope are pretty much exactly like mine, lol.

Also, I'd prefer if she was getting called a "Maou Shoujo"

I would just go with "maniac girl". The cadence is closer and the rhyme works better that way.

Magical Trans! is love; Magical Trans is life.

And, eh, current translation of maou shoujo is fine. All the other are going to have some issue with them (e.x. "maniac girl" is good for the reasons gormadoc noted, but it doesn't invoke a villainess).

(Megalo)Maniacal Girl is the best possible option if you're sticking to the "Magical Girl" translation. But it is true "Mahou Shoujo" is well understood now that some translations can get away with just using it without needing to translate it.

And yes, "Maou Shoujo" is an awesome corruption/pun and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Kaiserk.

I actually know more about her than most because I've followed up on a lot of the raws, but all I'll say is that she's an awesome character and adds a certain amount of spice to the trio.

Maou Shoujo is the best option. When there isn't a good translation/the literal translation is too clunky or doesn't fit, I don't see a reason why it would be terribly difficult for the readers to read a quick tl note explaining it, especially when it comes to puns and such. Mahou shoujo and maou shoujo sound similar, and they're more concise and less awkward than some tortured not-entirely-accurate translation in an attempt to copy the wordplay.

I feel like I should comment since there's so much discussion in here as to what translation we should have gone with for "maniacal girl".

There are three main reasons as to why we ended up going for maniacal:
1. Rhymes with magical, so "magical girl" sounds similar to "maniacal girl"
2. The definition of maniacal, "exhibiting extremely wild or violent behavior"
The last reason is a spoiler, consider yourself warned.
3. Maniacal girl.

Some of the other words we considered (see credits page) took the "demon lord" thing into account more, but had less visual and audial similarities to "magical".

As for what most of the comments are suggesting, going for Maou Shoujo: we did consider it, but decided against it. The main reason that I didn't want to go for Maou Shoujo (I can't comment for the rest of the team, because I'm not sure everybody's reasons) is that the club is the "magical girl club", which has been established over all of the previous chapters. Going for Maou Shoujo when we've been translating Mahou Shoujo this whole time would be inconsistent.
The teacher panel would also make way less sense if he was confusing "magical girl club" with "maou shoujo club". It's highly unlikely we would go back and change all of our previous references of "magical girl" to "mahou shoujo" and "magical girl club" to "mahou shoujo club" just to make this one concept sound a bit better.

Unfortunately, this is one of those compromises in translation that we have to make.
