Mahou? Sonna Koto Yori Kinniku da! - Vol. 3 Ch. 14 - Magic Battle Tournament (4)

@Merilirem
Well, Black Clover has Mereoleona, who is currently the strongest character, and Noelle, who has vast untapped potential.
For MHA, Ochaco and Tsuyu are good in fights but it has to be situational (close quarters or in water or wide areas). And All-Might’s mentor, who I assume was the former number one hero, was a lady. Boy, did her family life go down the tubes in the worst way...
Studio trigger has Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia
Pretty much any Ghibli movie except Porco Rosso (avoid Earthsea; holy shit!)
Isekai genre usually have overpowered women as supporting cast/love interest
Isekai otome is usually more focused on relationship and world-building with a female lead

You are seeing this from the wrong angle.

Think what would happen if Philea won?
Logic 1:
We will have Philea vs Yuri AGAIN. And that was covered in Chapter 9. Do you think Philea will win this time?
If she defeated Yuri, than the manga is over. He is no longer the OP Muscle man. So that is impossible. A Philea vs Yuri scenario will just be a repeat defeat.

Logic 2:
A Philea victory will deprive Yuri of his awaited match vs Leoneel.
It will mean the viewers deprived of witnessing the match between Yuri and Leoneel.
What is this manga about? MUSCLES.
Who is MUSCLES? Yuri is.

If you want stories where females constantly beat up monsters larger than their size, watch Precure. That may sound like an insult but it isn't.
I love Precure, especially Heartcatch Precure. It also has probably the highest rating of all Precure shows because of the realistic way it approaches the plot, the way the cast and villains have realistic motivations, awesome fight scenes, and environmental climate change messages.

Philea has been enlightened by the awesomeness of MUSCLE! MAGIC. Look at her trying to summon an elemental with such beautiful MUSCLES! made of wind all over its body.

Imagine writing an essay just because a female character lose in a cheesy gag manga.

@Solipsist
> yet females are still treated like frail beings
That's only Yuri. Everyone is frail compared to him anyway, but he's rougher on the guys regardless. (edit: oh wait, he actually punched Voltemia)
On the other hand, Lioneel doesn't seem to care and doesn't hold back on anyone.

There's not enough on this manga yet to say that "women are treated as frail beings".

@Merilirem
> Sometimes i think it would be ok to have the MC and friends win or lose outright
These has been done before, and it's honestly not that much more interesting either.
Predictability is fine. If you've read enough stuff, you'd care less about plots and twists.

He has got to go for that All Might style and wear baggy clothes so they fit when he bulks up

Neuroplasticity actually demonstrates that the brain is honed like a muscle. Keep it active and it will grow stronger.

Wait... If his brain is muscles, then with his muscle magic surely... HE MUST BE THE SMARTEST PERSON IN THE WOOOOOOORRRLD!!11!1!1!1!1!!!

brain science is really interesting, like how only certain skills can be trained, for example short term memory can be trained a little but reverse memory span (a sequence of numbers that you have recite backwards in reverse, the average is 7) or reaction speed can't really be trained and actually reflect the underlying general factor of intelligence or g-factor for short, for example a simple eye test where you compare a variety of hues can actually be used to estimate IQ along with a number of other tests like weight perception or hearing tests since they challenge the underlying neural efficiency of an individuals brain in fact the genetic correlation for adult IQ is about 60-80%.
