Thats what I'm thinking. He found his ticket out of there. He didn't want to go on the subjugation anyway, so I know he didn't risk his life for that. Especially since he doesn't care for anyone except Philomena, and he's been dying to quit work and marry her already. So no way he's DYING dying.

I just think he should've saved it for the Final Boss and not the lackey. But I guess the sooner the better in his case.
