At first I thought that wasn't possible since the ring is fairly obviously female, but 'Demon King' seems to be a gender-neutral title (instead of description), the demons put ambition and power above any gender discrimination (if it even exists, demon culture seems fairly equal under power) and we never actually see the Demon King.
