The Fact that Viz only asked them to take down those 6 rather than everything VIZ has licensed should say enough about Take-downs in general.

Take care Holo! Thanks for everything you do till now.

But then what will happen with MikuDex if Holo no longer admin?

I'm highly against purging contents that's not available legally for free. People who don't wanna pay won't pay regardless. It'll just be worse for Viz themselves as their manga will get less exposure.

Also how do you guys tag people's name?

Hmmm, i wonder why companies send take down notices to people posting their IPs for free.

@Holo
Thank you!

@Granitefish

My guess is that besides act-age (probably also do to shueisha telling them to do the take down if I had to guess) is that the other 4 are the big money makers, though I'm not entirely sure why househusband is included unless viz is gonna do a signature jump service (and using househusband as the front cover of the new service) in the upcoming months as they are only on vol 3 - with vol 4 coming in sept 15 and no release date for vol 5 as of today 8/27/20. Or Shinchosha or the author was put in the take down notice email chain that viz was doing.

I guess I'm not reading One Piece, One-Punch Man, and Way of the House Husband anymore. I know One Piece is on MangaPlus but their reader is terrible. I don't know where to even find the other two. This sucks ass. I'm glad I got through Demon Slayer a few months ago.

@xyzzy, I mean, the comment section get flooded/derailed by those "fix 'name' please" quite often.

@alifanfaron, what @RonBWL said:
1. Localization that gets rid of JP honorific / manga-specific term
2. Lazy edit with whiteboxes and subtitled SFX
3. Censorship / content change (mostly for webtoons that wanted to appeal to PG-13 rating to suck out more money from kids)
4. Unfair pricing / rental model (again, mostly for webtoons where you pay $1 for one chapter for only 48 hours access)
And I would add, translating things that shouldn't be translated, leaving things untranslated when they should be translated, often with no note on meanings, etc.

Edit: and speaking of Act-Age, can't the admins just nuke the whole thing already?

I recently heard about some site called Kissmanga or something like that. Maybe try looking there.

How fucking weak Mangadex. The whole point of the site was to offer a way to give credit to scanlators and not profit off the ads from aggregators but guess where banning the manga will lead people back to. The pirate sites again. Don't try to act better than KissManga or Manga rock cuz this is still a pirate site.

If some people here are already losing their shit over these six popular titles being hit with a takedown, imagine the meltdowns if Solo Leveling is next.

Ah so that explains why loading, even for the thread sections have become very heavy and unresponsive at times.

Wish you guys the best of luck, thanks to the staff and specially holo for his past service ^^
