I like how when the princess desires to lick the cup and concludes with "Just the half...!" the tea cup has the background that is usually used to show a person having a flash of intuition warning them about something really bad that is gonna happen.
The tea cup instantly knew that it is screwed in that moment.
@icarushector It doesn't need even to be confirmed to say that this isn't a trap, the japs don't have the courage to put a homosexual relationship in this type of manga
@IronHeavy Courage? This is a story about a guy banging chicks and building a harem... this is the wrong place for giving the MC a homosexual lover... nothing to do with courage.
This is more of a porn type story. And you should always know what kinda porn you are going to get.
If it's straight, you'd want to know it's straight, and if it's gay, you'd want to know it's gay. Both have their fans and people that don't care. But people can choose the fetish the like by having the distinction. And the distinction is made based on what the MC wants.
We have Shounen Ai and Yaoi for people that want homosexuality.
That princess isn’t set to have a position if authority (or god forbid be the monarch), right? If she is I’m worried for the country. Otherwise, I’m slightly surprised that a harem manga like this has the yandere yandering on not the mc (and I’m still fairly certain the roommate is a girl disguising themselves as a boy (for reasons... I guess), so I’m curious how the princess would take that).
@deathmailrock I’d say the author still has some wiggle room in that this is a story. Not that it’s a good tactic, but its commonplace for writers to employ cheap twists like this to artificially “get one over (basically)” on their readers. The thing with porn (in any medium) is that it’s generally much shorter. You don’t have time to pretend X character is Y when they are actually Z because you have to pretty much instantly get to the sex (and accurate tags explaining every possible kink or fetish or anything sexual are much more essential when searching for it). Again, not really saying that it’s a good thing (its a cheap and lazy and insulting tactic), but I promise you porn authors (? Creators? Depends on what it is I guess) would do the same as here if they only could. I mean, personally I want to know what type of story or game or movie I’m getting. It doesn’t stop them from turning my rom com in a battle harem or action game into a forced stealth puzzler or superhero movie into a romance flick. You should always want to know what type of whatever you’re getting, it doesn’t stop creators from lying to your face or throwing in some random shit to make themselves feel smart for tricking readers.
@TNT261 If a romcom becomes a harem, it would either be a harem early on or it would instead just be a bit harem like but we as readers know it means nothing (so it's fake; which I personally think is more insulting). And the battle transition is due to popularity of a single arc's battles.
Also, romance can often be added to anything. Super Hero movies don't get turned into romance flix, they just add romance. And that's usually to just improve the super hero part of it (aka, give personal stakes; often cause the parents are already dead).
Very rarely is there a weird twist where the type of story changes and if there is, it's often a gradual one that doesn't fully contradict the genre it already was.
MILF porn won't transform into gay porn, and gay porn won't become straight porn, because it's there for a specific audience.
