Huh. THAT series.
If I remember rightly I stopped reading that because a ton of chapters were missing.
I don't recall it being bad, per-se, but if I can't read it then I won't read it.
@SurviGynesis You can expect that to happen again since Mangabat is kind of unreliable these days, manganelo or mangafreak are usually my go-to secondary sites for the time being.
@The5thSeraph Can't blame the scanlators to remove them really, it's to avoid copyright strike considering the boom of official license everywhere from Viz, Shogakukan Asia, even Tokyopop in Germany. Kinda unusual for a SoL manga from B-tier magazine.
@Nihilist1
What exactly does "copyright strike" consist of and why are they so afraid of it?
I'm not sure what purpose all the "official license" stuff is supposed to serve, but isn't the manga the property of the author or artists? Nothing is being taken from these other translators so why would it concern them in any way?
And I really do blame the scanlators. Those who removed the pages for being cowards, and those who have picked up the series again since for just ignoring the huge gap (which renders the narrative as a whole unreadable until the gap is filled in again, so there is literally no point adding new chapters onto the end).
@The5thSeraph
You do realize all the manga here in this site are pirated right? They are the property of the author as well as the publishing magazine and thus under the protection Japanese copyright law. If they took notice of the pirated version and decide to enforce it they can put the entire series here down or even closing down the site, it's no joking matter. In komi's case, since it is licensed everywhere the scanlator puts a preventive approach to remove the chapters that was included in the official volumes to avoid the strike in the first place, the readers can either go to another aggregate site or buy the official volumes if available, it's nothing complicated really.
And for the second one, lol. Those scanlators are not being paid for their works here since we are literally a pirating site, it's up to them to decide on how to handle the issue at hand. Kinda funny that you expect something more as if you are entitled to it in the first place, maybe you should try scanlating yourselves anytime soon?
