Maou no Hisho - Ch. 10

wow, Truck-kun was referenced. 🤣

wait. it even referenced that damn loop in the Pokemon. That sh*t is my nightmare when I was a kid. 🤣

That trap design is the best for evil genius game. Eternal wind blast(just don't let exhausted minion trip on it).

Yay! Been a long time since I've seen a new chapter of this. (the last one I remember reading on another site) I was worried the second volume wasn't going to be translated.

@ampnaman The secretary being the hero would make no sense, since the hero is apparently active right now. Also, it would kind of ruin the concept of her character having just as much a reason to hate humanity as the demons.

Why do people use 'Satan' in their translations :/ Satan is a name(though if you get to the entomology it's a 'descriptive moniker' as opposed to a true name, but in modern English it's a 'name') not a title...if they use a title like "Maou" in Japanese they should use a title in English.

@WillLi
Probably because if you looked at the title page, it says either "Satan's Secretary" or "Secretary of Satan."

@chilzhul yeah but the people who licensed it are people doing that wrong too. And it's not as if translators have to follow localization mistakes of the licensing company. It sounds silly when everyone is calling him 'Satan' but we just had a chapter where they mentioned "He has no name"

@WillLi
Localization mistakes? It's says Satan on the japanese raws. If they say Maou-sama is Satan in this world(manga) they created, then he's Satan.

But I don't know man. Personally, I don't mind him being called either way.

@chilzhul The japanese title uses "maou" not Satan. Which roughly means 'demon lord'. Japanese Authors to not know their English, it's not their job to know. A great example is "Shingeki no Kyojin" Which gets written as "Attack on Titan" Which...is not what that means in Japanese. It means "Attack of Titans" more accurately. (I also shouldn't have to point out the mistake in plural either)

I get that's the title they wrote, and it can be called that. But they're not calling the character 'Satan' in the actual raws to my knowledge, I'm not aware of any furigana saying to read Maou as Satan. (Maybe it's there and I don't know it, but I doubt it).

That's why I'm saying it's a 'localization mistake'. And why I say people shouldn't just follow it, there is a possibility of author just not knowing his English and thinking "Maou" and "Satan" mean the same thing because all the localization companies that make that switch. People are okay with it because it's Satan, but imagine, if a manga had a 'generic' god in it and it got localized as "Allah" or "Jesus" people would be outraged. It's literally the same mistake.

That's why it irks me that scanlators do it.

I hope no game devs adopt Secretary's advice on endless loop of moving floor tiles. The only way of getting out of such trap would be to reset the game then. One wrong step is all it takes...
