Maou-sama, Retry! - Vol. 2 Ch. 7.1 - Congrats/Adverts

So excited for anime, but, like any adaption, the anime community is going to sht on it because it is not like the original light novel/manga.

@MadParadox can't blame em: several anime adaptations were butchered so horribly if it happened to people it would get you sentenced for crimes against humanity.

I wanna read the novel but it's only been translated upto 10 chapters!!
The novel updates are just slow as manga man...

I didn't even know the anime was announced. Congrats to the author.

@Wolvenworks I guess that is true. I mean Ghost Stories and Higurashi was an absolute nightmare after all. Still doesn't make sense for the harsh critics to condemn the better anime adaption just because the art style is a bit different from the original and a bit generic or that plot was rushed a bit. Unless the author drew the design more the anime himself, it ain't going to look exactly like the original. It certainly impossible to adapt everything word for word within a 24mins runtime. Not all animation studio have the unlimited budget work like Ufotable. People should just try not to overhyped and lower their expectations a bit.

@MadParadox true, but they fucked up Youjo Senki's design so much it's not funny. the manga looked like a masterpiece compared to the anime's ridiculous art. i mean look at poor Visha! so beautiful in manga, but in anime they make her look like a big-eyed wimp! even if you lower the expectations that was more like a junkyard deal.

point is, yes not everyone has the Unlimited Budget Works, but at least put some effort to make the chara design as faithful to the original material instead.

@Wolvenworks Can’t argue with that. Even if it was NUT studio first work, they tried too hard to make their own rendition that it turned Tanya into a shoujo protagonist. The Japanese loli Hitler’s personality and expressions was so over the top in the anime that is became less “Tanya” than its manga and novel counterpart.

Oooh. Another anime of a decent-looking story.

Obligatory: Congrats and fingers crossed the adaptation doesn't suck.
