Maou to Ore no Hangyakuki - Vol. 1 Ch. 3.2 - Chapter 3: After

I hope Amelia gets a redemption arc. She seems like the prime candidate for one and it could be interesting, especially if she begins to develop feelings for MC

Oh? Their dialogue seems to imply there's more to the theme of "Seeing for yourself, and always be just" the story wanted to tell. I was gonna drop this story since it just looks like a standard "oh, no... the good guys were the bad guys all along....", but if there's going to be more light shed upon both sides, I guess I'll stick around for longer.

So, this is the time when I have to ask... if they had things like that. why the hell did they summoned a hero?

So, does this mean that the inhumans are really a foriegn element in that world or are the humans just that bigoted? I have bern leaning toward the latter, but if the humans stick is more that simple human supremecy I would like to see it; not that I believe it will come anywere near justifing what they have been doing.

Considering they literally Holocausted the inhumans, I don't really care what the true reason they can't live is

@Dagashi damn near everyone believes they are the good guys and its always the good guys who win because the winners are the ones who dictate history even if it is lies. russian commies did it lots, china spouts plenty of bullshit so you know other countries did it especially those involved in wars

They are being called "invasive species" that indicates they are likely not native to that world.
Invasive species are also known to be harmful, look what the type of damage the common carp can do and even if I suspect it wont turn exactly into that, you have to admit that such a clear good/bad division is laughable and would not last even in the most basic storytelling type.

@otoshi-god well, lets look at it this way, you still have to build infrastructure, if you can remove the residents without causing too much harm, its more beneficial to you because you don't have to build/rebuild to occupy.

@Exile the only time you don't get black and white is when you are willing to devote tons of time to the individual.

you know that history is twisted to support what ever point of view that is in power wants
It could quite likely be that the humans were the invasive species but over time changed the naritive so that their war was justified

I have a hard time believing these humans have any sort of remotely justifiable excuse in their race war, considering their first and foremost reason is supremacy and they all act like assholes.

Still, I could believe that there's more to the human-monsterkind past than what we know.

Hmm… 🤔 Personally, I don't get the criticisms since wars can be short or long. It's a classic trope of Tolkien to make a conflict WWI-like (he did have first-hand experience after all). Yet, some conflicts last a short-time (such as how fast the Third Reich bulldozed the Polish amongst other nations).

Uh...what now?
Even if their reason of all this is (just an example) that the world will end if inhuman live in next 5 years or so it still doesn't justify the shit they been doing to the inhumans. Killing inoccents can never be justified. Never gonna accept even if that actually turn out to be the reason or any other reason.

Cold take but even if there were some bizarre utilitarian explanation for this ("When the land overflows with a million apes, the moon shall become Hell's messenger and completely destroy the world of the Spiral") and you accept that as justification for war or at least "hard decisions", going about it in such a fucked up way with deliberate cruelty and blatant vice still makes you the bad guy. Even if that's not your attention and you're merely promoting such people to be your high ranking generals or researchers or whatever, you're damning yourself by association. Sleep with dogs and you catch fleas, no matter how noble (or self-defensive as the case may be) your intentions.

The dude lost his mind. Inhumans, he wouldn't stop there. If there is nothing to kill that's inhuman, he'll start killing humans.
