Something that I hope they properly address is the very concept of the "Hero" in these sorts of stories, seeing as they did a pretty good job of breaking it all down in very realistic economics. Something that irks me with these sorts of stories is classifying one character as the designated hero in a very literal way, and they did kind of start with that. But the thing about heroes that these stories seem to gloss over is that heroes are situational and usually cultural, the hero of one culture is the villain in another. So, in a sense, the Demon Lord/King/Queen is the hero of the so-called "evil" forces. That said, it looks like this story is sort of addressing that as well, but we'll still have to see just how far it's taken

The whole economy system of the world seems to be fucked. Demographic booms have never happened during wars, but after. Think of it this way: mr soldier goes to war, he marries the girl he loves before leaving, then he hurries off; the years pass, mr soldier survives and comes back. What is the one thing mr soldier is going to do with the wife he hasn't seen in years? Yeah, so that's where the word Boomer comes from. Even if the Southern Kingdoms had the other kingdoms share some serious medical and agricultural knowledge with them, the population would still be barely increasing, because that's what mobilizing your armed forces does. I think they are mobilizing because the hero mentioned that the geography isn't very suitable for agriculture, and that most of the supplies come from the North.
Speaking of which, what the fuck is up with that market shit? Feudal societies would just buy the weapons and supplies from their producers and merchants, then send them to the boys and gals at the front. Why bother with sending money, then the supplies? Why aren't they contributing troops and shit? Yeah, supplies are all well and good, but who's gonna use them? Overall, the author seems to have gotten lost themselves in the details. Hopefully all will make sense later.

Entire paragraph is easily answered with 'prices mechanism'. Central sent money because they don't exactly know what front line needs, so front line can distribute their resources accordingly to their needs. Same as why they did not send troops, because, as it mentioned, southern has poorer economic therefore labors are cheaper.

I don't know how this story will develop, but I simply want to state that I love how the mangaka tries to adress these problems more realistically and explain why simply "killing the bad guy" is not the end goal, but just one step on the road to a better future.

@KriegGuardsman I'm guessing most of the deaths are also from the Southern Kingdom, seeing as how they're portrayed as somewhat poor and need to rely on the wartime funds.
