This manga has two basic thrusts and they go oddly together. On one hand there's the whole development economics schtick, which is very practical and down-to-earth, if a bit rah-rah simplistic about a kind of economic thinking I don't entirely agree with. And then there's the sort of apocalyptic plot which has surfaced gradually and is finally coming to a head now. It's an interesting but odd combination, feels weird when they butt up against each other.
