@kaminomikan Because he only likes her as a older sister. No matter how I see it, he is a kid and she is an adult. Quit it with the older woman fetish. Asians generally dislike when the woman is older than the man. We even have an ancient idiom to make fun of couples like that. And I have never see that kind of couples work well, they either get a divorce(which is rare in our society) or the man cheated with some young girls like my aunt's situation, she tries to wear clothes and make up to make herself looked young but then her husband left her at home, doesn't even want to be seen in public with her.
@miyako19
Now now, don't be too serious about it. The whole shipping thing is often about the reader's preference over a character, rather than about the couple themselves. I shipped kiriyama kun with the witch, but that's about it. Even i know that relationship will go nowhere. Kyouko cannot provide him the comfort he need.
@miyako19 Look, I get that Japan may have a culture like that, but it's fucked up and wrong. I don't give a fuck what your culture is like, but when it spreads discrimination and pain to people who are just trying to seek happiness like that, I can't stand behind it. What's so fucking wrong if a guy marries an older woman? I'm not even talking about like the 10+ years older kind of deal. I'm not saying that Kiriyama should have ended up with Akari, but their age gap is 3-4 years at best and is honestly not that bad really. I know plenty of couples where the older one is the wife, and they are happily married. The only reason why you struggle to find someone happily married like that wherever you are is because of the stigma and discrimination they receive from dated and unhealthy cultures of considering it automatically wrong.
