Marine Corps Yumi - Vol. 4 Ch. 88

Ahh, the memories from my time in the Army. Some mre's were bad (like the hot dogs, rather horrifying), then you had some really damn good stuff, like the orange pound cake dessert. People would fight for that, serious trade material there.

As a civilian, I find it amusing that there are weebs who are/were in the military reading a manga about military service

At the same time, they should be amused at the fact that I’m obsessively hitting the comments simply to gleam what wisdom and experience they may be offering in here

Nevwr thought I'd see snuff mentioned here. Yeah, they don't smell and taste good enough, but spitting them out always looks gross.

@CyanHide
I can't serve because I had surgery for a club foot when I was an infant but I've got family who've served. From what they told me there's a surprising amount of weebs in the military

@Jacough

In that case, if I uh...
”get lost on the way to college”...
then I should be among good company with relatively less worries than one would assume

Same thing in my case. Can't join because I got poor eyesight. My country military's requirement is somewhat strict, meanwhile the US military accept those who wear glasses.

Maybe cause we were a bunch of unmotivated conscripts with Asian manlet genes, but we were really surprised at how fit the US troops were, some of these guys could carry full gear and run faster and further than us carrying just a vest, helmet and rifle.

But what was more surprising was how badly they fared in the humidity of Southeast Asia. During a short one day exercise I counted eight Americans fainting or on the verge of fainting.

@nocturne Pretty much to be expected. The human body needs some time to acclimate. It was always funny to see how US soldiers from the south fared in the German winter (which is not particular cold). They always seemed cold, while we were running around in short sleeved shirts. Funny as hell.

Huh, I know that they'd be unusual to the climate, but to think that they'd go as far as fainting. It makes that much of a difference......
