Chastity is a virtue related to temperance, defined as refraining from unreasonable sexual conduct or romantic relationships.

Chastity is not virginity. What chastity is, is not betraying your partner/spouse or similar. I assume it means, she didn't want to become prey of another man, so she killed herself.
