What an asspull. Honestly, even reading Wujizun's comments left at the end of the earlier chapters gave me the impression that the manhua is a very poor adaptation.

I don't think it's a bad thing to have this be different from the source. Look at it from a complete outsider's perspective. It's still entertaining. It's still fun. It's still good. I can still read the original novel if I want to know that story; I'm here because this is an independent thing.

This existing does not take away from the source material.

The only significant way that diverging from the source material is bad is if it creates plot holes or inconsistencies. That's what I think, at least.
