Martial Legacy - Ch. 67 - After the Disaster

Yay! I'm happy I was wrong again and things ended better for Chen Xing, Shi Shan and Shi Yan (the Master and kids)! Master really is a kind person, and I like the way he treats the kids. I wonder if he has all of the knowledge of his previous Sect and is simply unable to use it, but able to pass it on. If Shan and Yan can get those abilities and techniques they'll be powerhouses! It's a shame Shan had to sacrifice so much in the conflict at such a young age. I hope it doesn't effect him too badly. He lost quite a chunk of time off of his life, but don't Master Martial Artist's live exceptionally long anyway? At least in most stories they seem to, so maybe it's just a small drop in the bucket for him. He's probably scared to tell his Master what happened and how, though.

Wonder where it's going to go next? It seems that Demon Queen is going to be the main enemy for the "second wave". I'm also surprised that Li Cunxiao was simply killed off-panel. I know they sacrificed a ton to do it but it would have been cool to see. I don't understand why they simply sent those guys in the tomb when they had such a strong force relatively close by. Tactically speaking it seems kind of stupid.

Thanks for the release, Allen.

@Happily_Grim

They wanted to weaken the zombie while preserving their own forces as much as possible before launching a proper attack in the shows. Tactically speaking their strategy was decent.

@Divine_Emperor
It seems they would have overall suffered significantly less casualties if they had participated with the martial artists who went inside the tomb. They might not have won, but they still did a pretty decent job overall. If they had the combined help of that large group of martial artists I feel like the Lord and the Martial Artists would have come out better in the end. Not to mention the use and eventual destruction of a City God inside the tomb. That seemingly could have been avoided altogether. I understand he wanted to preserve his own forces, but the martial artists are essentially a part of those forces according to how they all talked about it. That being "we go or we die".

It's just my opinion from an objective point of view. That preservation of forces is going to cost him significantly more now than it would have if it had been a collaborative effort from the start, particularly now that the City God and all but one of the martial artists are gone.
I'd like to think this line of thinking is somewhat right, but who knows? I may be completely off the mark.

@Happily_Grim Yeah, I'm with you there. I agree it was a dumb move not to gang up on the zombie with everyone together. It rubs me the wrong way that authors portray people as stupid, or push the story in a certain direction just for the "plot".

@Happily_GRIM
I think morally you are absolutely on the right track, but like Devine_emporer said tactically it makes plenty of sense. In that sort of close combat fight having a hundred more people in the room doesnt mean 100 more people get to attack, also based on the interactions with those guys the general martial artist is not treated as much better than a bounty hunter would. I.E. completely expendable.

Also im glad things are at least ok for them for now. I expected a much heftier price honestly.
