They would need to bring some of the strongest guards for such an order. It would also make the individual seem like the enemy of the pavilion rather than the nation itself. Strange they haven't heard of the connection between MC and that golden token. And are the others that daft to want to weaken their military strength by making enemies of the pavilion

Are these ministers blinded by power or did the Emperor hide his brains all through his reign?

Even the emperor himself says he has to be respectful to the pill pavilion head, but it seemed like either they were blinded by their greed or wanted to weaken the emperor power. Guess the power struggles for the throne are really starting with ministers siding with factions openly in front of the emperor, which doesn't make much sense as the emperor is healthy and smart.

@bythos they were simply being brave cuz exposing someone else's a*s. Like "we can do it cuz the moron emperor will have to take the blame and burden" but then the emperor said "do it yourself" and their cowardly nature was exposed. Also, their idea was moronic. HErbs or not, with the new pills the other countries would have fought to have the pill pavilion on their side, not to mention qin chen.

That's what I was wondering, they expect to pull the wool over the emperor's eyes and expect him to not notice when he has been running the govt. for years. Felt like the author took it to the extremes of 'stupid ministers' who are blinded by their greed for power and wealth such that they forget to fight for benefits diplomatically.
