Melancholia - Vol. 2 Ch. 26 - Zoo Hypothesis

This guy always has a way of writing weird things that truly makes one feel...

...no. I can't.

But I can.

...melancholy.

Oh my fucking god that end is so bittersweet.

I think this might be his best work. Like, Voynich Hotel is amazing and Nickelodeon had some fantastic stories, but as a complete work this thing is just...holy shit.

And here I thought that organ extracting chapter is out of place when re-reading things previously. Silly me.
Also, if the niche mangaka is actually Douman, that means he secretly ships himself with the ex-cop-turned-terrorist while dumping the rich lady?

Oh, awwwww. Thank you so much for translating this, it was absolutely wonderful.

Toward the end.
I was like "Uhm, what?"
And then it hit me.
"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"So that is what happend, we are back at the start now"
"I kinda get it".
.
Ps: I understand nothing, as always.

Someone try to explain the cat's wand. Saved a fragment of her soul by locking it in a compressed dimension for 10 years?

@Rockdrop
My hot take on it is that the cat locks both his soul and Satomi's in limbo so he could salvage her. I think time moved differently in the limbo dimension, though, so it didn't actually take ten years of real time. Pretty sure the siren of the end was actually the ambulance siren, so that hints that time moves quicker there than in the outside world.

I believe that Chapter 1 is chronologically the last chapter to happen, taking place after the loop has been broken. You can see that in the end of that chapter, the cat basically gave her the choice to either die with the world (heaven's door) or live to do good (normal door). Loop Satomi is a bit bonkers and would see the world die with her (maybe due to her mother's influence), so I believe she'd choose to drop dead there. Her choosing to live means that the cat succeeded in reforming her, thus saving her.

I'm also pretty sure that the cat died from the accident, since he didn't follow Satomi exiting the door. He sacrificed his life to save her, just like how his partner sacrificed his to save the world.

I wanna come back to this series in the future for analysis cause there's just so much too it. Very enjoyable.
