MEMORIZE - Ch. 24

So unnecessary. They seem to trust him with their lives, so why is he uselessly doing the magic equivalent of cutting himself instead of, y'know, just being a normal person? I mean, at least when Japan does dumb edgy shit like this it's done by actual highschoolers; this guy is meant to be a highly experienced supreme combatant of sorts, all mature and shit, and they just go and make that impossible to believe. What a fucking drama queen.

I still get the feeling he doesn’t truly care about them. Like, using them. But i guess a character development moment is needed to break him from his lonesome shell even though he has attachment to his past comrades which you’d expect more sincerity at least

kinda surprised he didn't pull a "run away and don't look back" thing again

. . . i guess that counts as character growth?

@crypteccreed He doesn’t care about them, he cares about what they think of him, and worry that his manipulations are failing because he slipped out of his role.
He is a full on psychopath.

@Twinklecake One of the worst things done in these kinds of mangas is that the character always reveal their secrets for no good reason. He doesn’t know or trust these people enough to just go “Yeah i ‘reincarnated’”, that would be idiotic. He doesn’t know how long he will be on a team with these people so to prevent problems appearing in the future he Keeps up an act.

i kind of like that the MC is such an asshole right now.

it's definitely not comfy. it puts you on edge, and it's where the real tension comes from in this -- which balances out how overpowered he is

@Malte Doesn't mean he has to pretend he's weak to this ridiculous point. There's a range of reasonable solutions there you don't have to be Moriarty to think of, and this sure as shit falls outside of it.

I don't know why people are calling the MC an edgelord? He isn't even deliberately trying to turning into a maniac.

He has survived for 10 years just fighting and seeing his friends fall beside him one by one. What do people expect? He's not going to a sane after going through all the hardship and having his only purpose in life for that being to kill.

Also, he's a super experienced player that is trying to accomplish his goal and only made this party/caravan/group to do so. He hardly even cares for them, only that in the future they will be powerful.

Also revealing you have more power than you should to people will scare them out and that is after all the time he could have saved them the pain in the rite world. And if he's betrayed by one of them, he'll be the prime target for many people - I'm sure many of you have read a manga were the MC gets betrayed by his best friend and killed. And be doesn't even see these people as comrades but useful tools.
