The reason she has the "lock" on her heart she referred to in this chapter in the first place is she got some Buddhist priest to seal her feelings for Yuan yuan and memories of having loved him after he broke her heart in the previous timeline because he didn't realize he liked her due to that emotion suppressing technique the ghost of the throne wanted to give him that he rejected a few chapters back in this life. She was warned by the priest that the chains would even last through reincarnation and if she really wanted to give up on love practically forever, so Yuan yuan has got to work hard to break that "lock". Yuan yuan didn't realize he loved her until she died and used the magic mirror Yuan Chu wants, to turn back time but the mirror is cursed and sealed his memories as the price for turning back time, which is why the spirit of the mirror tried to erase his love for Yuan Chu when his memories started to resurface and Yuan Yuan felt like the technique he rejected had cost him something precious.
