@hazelthyme I dont think anything happened. I think stages are broken down into 3 parts, your main stage like qi condensing or base laying or golden core or nuasent, then that is broken down into beginning, mid and late, then again into beginning, mid and late.

But I dont think she can use her full power in this form. So she is limited to mid late base laying stage(maybe higher but she isnt showing it)

To make it simple, his level is like 269, the opponent is level 299, he thinks her level is around 100, she is showing level 289. Her real level is over 400 (based on 100 levels per main stage, 33 levels per substage and 10 levels per subsub stage.)

@sybil_12 no I don't think that's what @xiaoyueyue means. It was the naming of the stages. I also feel bothered by it, like it feels like some part was cut off lol. Middle stage of Late (lol) or maybe Late means something else but was translated that way. I think battle through heavens gave a more clear rankings in this case. I don't really read xianxia too much so some terms are a bit unfamiliar

it was explained in some chapters before i think ? cultivation body then refining something then nascent soul. each separated into 4 stage, early, middle, late and peak.
