I have a few theories. I think it's that they're like super distant cousins or some bs, where the blood is hardly there. That, or they're not cousins in the traditional sense, more so the friendly sense. THAT, or one of them is adopted.

This series is hillarious.
I did the marathon reading from chapter 1 yesterday and the story not less getting boring. I still hope he can cure zhao jie.
And cousin marriage is acceptable because you are not direct blood related so it's okay because the blood relative is by your parent's brother’s/sister's not you and your cousin. The only forbidden thing is the incest thing, that's so disguisting.
