@cullinaire From what I see on nowaday cars, they are tend to be wider than previous generations, this is applied to all cars from any manufacturer.
I had 3 Corolla from 1980s to mid 2010s and When I lined up them either vertically and horizontally, I found they become wider and longer as new generations released. Right now my 2010s Corolla was barely fit on my garage doors (7 feet wide) while others so easily in and out without any problems.

@hartex92 yes, I'm always reminded of someone doing the same exercise with the 911...amazing how small the 964 is compared to the latest generations. Ironically the Fit is not an exception either, I remember driving the first Fit to come to the USA, and loving the feel. Nowadays I can't really say I'm sad to see it go.

Part of it is regulations (more safety) and part of it is consumer expectations, and all the while weight increases. Power did too, but as you probably know there's something special to driving a light car with less power compared to big ones with more. I miss my 1986 Corolla.

I don't even know what the fuck i'm reading here. Initial d highlighted each character ability to drive and produced thrilling battles to an extent even if you knew the result for every race. Here it look like the author took some weird substances before creating this new 'Motorsport'.

The 'best drivers' and mechanics look like they discover the concept of car physics at every race, most of the grid seem to have the same skill as the wingless s15 driver with his ultimate braking technique. It is frustrating to read.

The storytelling outside of cars is even worse than in initial d. We are nearly 70 chapters in without knowing how the rules work (tyres width depends on weight yes). We don't know shit about the protagonists, we don't know how the old D team 'somehow' ends up linked with each others around these touge showdown

At this point I feel like they are milking the readers and I'm not even sure about who is pushing to have that happen, the author? The editor? The magazine? . I mean fuck; 10+ pages to get one move and trying to invoke Senna into the story.

@Moodyz I mean Hamilton is factually/objectively better than Senna if we look at both of their stats. I adore Senna, and still watch his races multiple times a year, but Hamilton is better.
