I mean, it's a realistic problem that has crushed more couples than anyone's cared to keep track of after all. Especially at this age group, where people are likely to be chasing their dream careers and might have to look to different places to do so in. So, when the couple overcomes the long distance thing in spite of the inherent difficulty in it, it's an easy "Their love was true" moment or something.
