Well besides it looks like he starting to escalate his crimes? Since we didn’t see this spirit in his previous appearance I’m guessing it was attracted by his growing bloodlust.
This spirit/guy will probably be dealt with in the next few chapters and we see what happens when the shrine spirits help her the third/final time.

I read a lot of mangas to pass time but... This one is really something else. In the first chapters I was just thinking about some kind of "daily life" of someone with special traits, but we can clearly see some deep plot being constructed there. Ahhh I can't wait !

It acts conversely as well; in the earlier chapters it was stated that her aura is like a beacon to the monsters, so Miko also sees more powerful monsters because she's around Hana.

A monster that kills other monsters, that’s definitely a plot device that’s going to show up again at some point.
