Mieruko-chan - Vol. 3 Ch. 21

What the teacher might be thinking before saving the cat: "Damn car, don't you dare to steal my prey. It's mine and only I'm allowed to kill it."

Anyone saying the teacher is a good guy needs to go back and read chapter 4. We see the difference between cat ghosts treated well and poorly. We also see some of the cat ghosts following the teacher have knives sticking out of them.

edit: Chapter 16 has some of them with knives, and others wrapped in barbed wire.

plot twist he likes cat but the cats die everytime he adopts because the ghost which is his mom is sucking the life energy of the cats

Don't give that "It was all a misunderstanding" BS, even IF I'm okay with it!!!!!

u know how cats sometimes just stop and stare off into the distance

I suddenly wonder.... is he actually the one that killed the other cats?

I mean, he is being haunted by the cats that we presume he killed and what looks like to be his mom but was it really by his choice? For all we know, he might have been possessed by his mom and made to kill them. He might be taking in cats to raise a being with the love that his mother didn't give him

@BestBoy

Good point. The "good" cat spirits had normal forms (like the guardian ghost girls), hell they even had split tails like Nekomatas so they lived long lives.

Also, even in chapter 4 the spirit "whispering" to him looked wicked as fuck. It clearly grew in power or hatred or whatever the lore behind their transformation is.

Theory(as all theories, it may be completely wrong): He didn't hurt these cats, he was looking after them. The ghost (which is his mother) killed them.

It's a bit hard to speculate on what's going to happen next but that's next chapter's job.

1. He kills the cats to vent his anger he has on his mother for not letting him socializing with his friends and manipulation.
2. What the others said below, the 'spirit' of his mother or whatever you call that shit is killing the cats.
