Part of the reason France consumes so much manga is that Francophone countries have sizable home industries making them, allowing a lot of people to read non-Japanese manga. Gateway drug, and all that.

This chapter was a bit of a Japan-fap. I think the reason Americans eat Japanese food at all is the reason we eat any food: we like it so damn much. Healthy doesn't matter; there are plenty of healthy American foods. Besides, a lot of Americans (wrongly) believe MSG to be unhealthy and it's commonly used in Japanese cooking.

Wew, I was ready to count the stereotypes and mistakes, but, the representation ended up being pretty close to the real thing. I'm surprised.

I was literally like, agreeing with the French family on how they were living their habits and things.
