It's kinda off-putting how quickly this series veers from fluffy kitten fluff to Mr. "I saw your brother off the other day, want to see him?" Berger holding a gun behind his back.
To everyone sayin he went too far...you do remember they are kinda like mafia right? And the kiddo -possibly- didn't take part on the previous betray plan whatnot but his brother had a hostage situation where he could've killed kitty cat and begner already lost family it wasn't gonna happen again
So.
I'm not saying that Bergner's actions: killing Nabi and attempting to silent Kibi, are right, we all know being a mafia is not considered a good thing anyway. I think Bergner just wanted to play it safe. Like @lexy mentioned, Anna's father is like a mafia boss and, imo, as the head of bodyguards protecting Anna, Bergner has to kill Kibi, who's obviously very close to Nabi, to prevent Kibi from growing up, learning about Nabi's killer, and planning to avenge for Nabi. Who knows what will Kibi do? He could try to hurt their most important person, Anna, by teaming up with some other powerful group, who might be even more powerful than Anna's and we still yet to learn about up till now. He might become friend with Anna since they're close in age, and he will definitely be close to the other members - considering his natural friendly nature. Everyone's going to get hurt, physically and mentally. However, Bergner's not cold-hearted enough seeing he faced anxiety after killing Nabi, he decided to listen to Kibi's will first.
@NinkNikkita@lexy There's also the fact that the Knot group is out there. They already know they assassinate people, and they also know that Kibi's brother tried to kidnap the kitty, so what's stopping them from thinking they're both apart of Knot?
Ik all of the discussion for this chapter are like a year old but I wanna throw my hat into the ring-- I think bergner was actually testing kibi's loyalty to the family. If he can be swayed into leaving his job for a day to see his brother, he's probably not going to end up being a good ""employee"" to miss anna
