Yes you are right, age gap romance is so unpopular.

Wait what did I just write? I seem to have blacked out just now.

There isn't really any indication of romance yet tbh. The boy actually seems to be more cold/rational than her even. At least she had a reason to close off her heart (apparently) but he just interacts with anyone in a calm but cold good boy attitude. The one thing that kept him going so far is his interest in others so far but if you think about it, he seems to be more interested in the rationale behind everything than the person.

Knowing how he thinks he actually acts the most abnormal of all characters here.
