people were uncomfortable with the fact that the teacher was going out with their student, who looked even younger than a highschooler.

but honestly? teacher x highschooler is such a common story beat that its not a surprise the writers were surprised at the reaction. 99% of the time people are fine with it (in fiction) but this is one of those rare times when people were not.

As stated before, it was/is her height. It didn't help that they never clarified her age. One could argue that her classroom number, "1B," would be a contextual clue. But that's a little difficult for someone who never seen grades labelled that way.

What are you talking about? She's an elementary schooler. She and the rest of her classmates are all the same size as the kindergartners in this same publication. You can't run that back with "Oh.. no, no, she was a HIGH SCHOOLER." This is the manga equivalent of "Yo she said she was 18."

@Goronthil the thing is that this work was somewhat based on modern world rules so far and then suddenly they show us this story, add to that how young she looks and that doesnt make it better, but in reality the problem lies in the character of the girl TBH.

depends on the context, if the dragon is like the ones in this story and the iguana is a normal animal then it could be considered bestiality, if the dragon is a "normal" dragon it would be ok because both would be animals, if both are humanoids then it would be pedophilia, but like i said in the comment above the real problem lies in the girl character.
