Okay, the dragon is obviously superior... But I assumed he wasn't romantically interested? Platonic affection seems totally plausible, here, at least.

(But if dragon boy does have a crush, I may be really upset about the author's choice to take the clearly somewhat-toxic love interest instead... Any such blatant "nice people lose" sort of romance just make my skin crawl.)
