@Sonneillon I don't see it that way - from my perspective they're really oiling him up because they want him to join their team. They were really impressed with his familiars and his personality and now they know he's very skilled. It's pretty obvious they're trying to score as many brownie points as they can with him in order to recruit him but I can also see how people would think they want to betray him but this really doesn't feel like that kind of manga to me

Thanks for the update. I have to agree the general feeling and the portrayal seem incredibly sketchy but like someone said, they're probably trying to recruit him. A brief reminder to everyone (someone also commented this last chapter) but they're the same group of people alongside MC at Ch.1 cover so they're most likely safe given the fluffy setting of the plot.
Still... MCs main purpose is to find more about the Fallen, a way to go back home or find a place where he can belong and since the party has just been introduced, it still feels like this isn't the case of his last aim, a place to belong
