Well @marcopolonian, it was stated in the previous chapter that the vampires have been relying in their senses till now. They didn't bother to learn how to adapt their methods the way humans do in the modern days.

Judging the way they behave, it must be the first time that they have someone like Keigo who is a detective from the police in their society
