I guess his mother had her reasons but still she needs to face her son and atleast show that she cared, all this behind the scenes only satisfies us reader not the Mc.
I means, yeah yeah I understand her but that doesn't mean I agree with her. It might be not possible to show genuine motherly love because of what the world would say but still that doesn't mean you show hate.
It's complicated for sure.
I sure hate her right now for treating Mc that way all his life but I still understand her reason. Reality of the fact is that she is just a powerless woman who can't fight for her son.

And better than asking who the girl "out of place" is, perhaps tackle the question of what place that might be and how we're supposed to know she is out of it? That other woman, was it the dwarf-who-isn't-a-dwarf or someone completely different?
It is kinda difficult to know when the art is this shit. Also the writing.

Aren't they already at war? The way it's setup it seems like they're in a perpetual state of war against the Mages/Demons. Heck, it's apparently fine to kill a Mage/Demon for simply being a Mage/Demon.
