It's a mix of Chess and Shogi piece names. Not sure why they'd use both like this but /whatever.

Edit: I was wrong, they're all Shogi pieces, with a couple "promoted" mixed in, though instead of "spear" it's usually called "lance".

@Solemmaru @StormTAG It goes by [Tier] [Skill]. The [Tier] is apparently named with the names of pieces inside Shogi, a Japanese game that's similar to chess.

They're meant to be used as classifications, but alas, the formal names of the pieces in shogi are kinda written in stone and can't really be renamed, so they sound silly reading them as-is, especially with the long ones. It doesn't look as silly when it stays as Japanese.

From what I remember about traditional Japanese archery (kyūdo I think?), they let the bow "follow through" in a way so that the bow ends up in a "backwards" position
