Murabito Desu ga Nani ka? - Vol. 2 Ch. 9 - Rite of Trials (3)

I shed so many tears for the last scene, I love gentle, paternal, elderly dragons. So precious

So now he's going on a journey with another girl and helping her get stronger; after having stolen his childhood friend's key to finding strength... I just don't know what to say.

All I really can say is that I hope that the author decides to go back on the dragon king's words that the fmc hero wont find the proper motivation to get stronger. Maybe she could determine to get stronger because she refuses to let mc take all the responsibility away from her... or something like that.

@nunyab69 It's weird, he stole an opportunity. It put Hero progress back a little, but I'm not sure if something better could be done. He could let it play as default, but why? Are we sure that these events won't cause motivation for Hero? It's just a Dragon King's words.
His helping hand toward the other girl is a bit more understandable. She is basically a rogue slave, if dragons kick her out, not much would await her. It's different than the hero who has already outlined things to do.

The fight scene had so much going on with all the crosshatching that you barely understood what happened, they shouldve made the fight more simple

The story is a bit inconsistent but the dragon's rite of passage is some great world building.

-"I want this skill by any means"
-"Take the skill, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with you accepting his death and sending him off"
And everything works out with the best results possible. Ok buddy writer.
