In Japanese-style archery, they allow the bow to twist around when shot. But I don't know whether they actually shot that way in war in the past, or if it's something that got added in the modern style, which seems to focus more on form/meditation/spirituality than utility. It seems strange to me, and not practical, due to the extra time it would take to reposition for the next shot. You can see it in the video here, but you can also see that their rate of fire is REAL slow.

It's somehow "normal" in Japanese culture to become that AFTER shooting arrow ...
it isn't normal at medieval setting tough, probably the artist and author forget that or did that on purpose ...

@Mavorne: The arm that goes the bow just holds it for aiming, no force or anything. The arm that draw the bowstring is the one that does the heavylift of the weapon. Thus when you grip a bow like you grip a bike handle or gun it messes up big time the arrow release.

Is she telling the heavy cavalry to do a defensive formation? I don't think that's how heavy cavalry works...

I kinda confused Lilith with a male sidekick ever since she lost her special robes and went with the same clothing style of the others.

@GerryCerryBery I thought she was telling the cavalry to disengage, basically instructing them to hit-and-run. Going back to the castle while the infantry form a shield wall and the archers rain arrow fire on the enemies is correct seeing how the heavy cavalry would have used up their lances and aren't good for skirmishing. Regrouping and flanking to support the defenders could be what comes next.

But it's a sound strategy. When there are two targets and two fighters able to take each of them on, it's better to split your forces and deal with them separately. It's not good idea to have two boss-level enemies on the same map after all.
