@krispy the RETARDED cliche / trope in isekai when "older man" mc dies, "Oh, I am 40+ years old, but I am actually reborn in this young male body so I won't fuck bitches because they could be my daughter in my old world"
So mc making stupid things seem smart continues with, "so if I mix honey with bitter medicine it will go down easier? That's a recipe I hadn't heard of before!"
I think the MC refered to 2 things with that sentence:
1. That herb and boiling it to create a medicine against burns. - The MC probably did not know that the herb could be used in that way by boiling it.
2. He obviously knows that sweetening bitter medicine makes it easier to eat. But as he never used that herb (since he did not know its use) or that flower (cause he probably never had a reason to eat that flower) he did not know that the herb tastes bitter and that that flower can be used to sweeten foods or drinks.
@Talh when you take it with the next line being, "it's a recipe passed down in my family," it sounds like they are saying something much more complicated than even that. So I think he's actually calling boiling a flower, and adding honey, a recipe.
Basically making it sound like the back and forth with that merchant from last chapter:
MC: So it looks like there's a hole in your ship keeping you from sailing.
Other person: Oh hoh, sounds like you really know your stuff!
Depending on how you look at it, it could be a "that's so sweet" moment or a "wtf, she changed overnight from a stranger's words" kind of ridiculous plot, is this the true power of the MC??
@xEternalSoul no. It just mean that woman in manga's world, written by virgin guys, are easy to please women who happy with just a word of 'cute' or 'beautiful'.
@gaigous no that's just what the Peons, and probably orc society in general, wanted you to think. If you kept poking at them you would realize that they were slacking off, and trying to seem incompetent, so you would give them less work.
