Based on all the things I've read for months now about various later events of this story, I really think I'm going to end up regretting it if I continue with this. So I guess I'll stop. There's only one thing I'm still moderately curious about, if anyone is willing to explain: what ultimately comes of the whole warring deities angle? If you do choose to answer, thanks in advance.

While I get that inceste between parents and underrage children is sick and criminal, I really don't get the general avertion especialy in western Europe and America toward romantic and sexual relations between siblings and cousins.
It's not more sick and dirty than any other sexual relation, so if DNA is all that bothers you guys, it's probably Time to get it over with, because you can always do like homosexual couple if there's a risk, Ask a donor or adopt.

Personally, I don't see cousins as particularly taboo but as individual who has a sister, I can understand why some would see
relations between siblings as taboo.

Uh also, this chapter was far from dark. Considering Sauros got ~~scapegoated~~ killed off for the stupidest of reason (barring political power plays), death of a few other characters shouldn't really be much of a surprise at this point.

@tuatara1 There is a chapter called "Turning point II" in volume 15, read that and you will know all about it. If you dont wanna read it, let me spoil you one of the best fucking chapter in any LN all time. Warning, FUCKING HEAVY SPOILERS ahead.
@BaGamman Oh this reminds me a story from last week when my colleague said his friend got together with a chick (meaning they fucked) who turned out to be his cousin. We laughed a lot, then cried... You know, because we dont have chix to fuk. :-( :-D Damned social standards.

The whole birthday thing goes way back. In chapter 15 Promise, when Rudeus was having his 10th birthday, Eris also showed up like this too. And Eris eventually said wait until 15 before Rudeus can touch her in that way. Now she is 15, she is just making good at her promise at that time. So anyone saying this is sudden should go back and re-read chapter 14 and 15.

From what I've heard, the reason it's a taboo in the US is because of cheating, specifically with brothers/sisters-in-law, which would make you half-siblings instead. Could be fake but it at least sounds more reasonable than "just because".
