it's not like hitogami gives them to him. hitogami said that whether or not he went to save his mom and help paul, he'd lose something irreplaceable, and gain something irreplaceable. if he had stayed through the mating season, they would have become his wives because he's the only one they're willing to fuck (because he's the strongest). at this point hitogami isn't trying to force him to do anything. it's only once orsted shows up that hitogami gets serious.
