This is still really interesting, despite its departure from pure SoL. Though pure SoL does get boring after a while (see: Seitokai Yakuindomo) though it has its place, purpose and market.

I'm just wary of the foreboding blindside feels train that's going to catch everyone off guard and devastate with tactical precision. You just know it's looming somewhere, somehow for the most effective opportunity.

So why is he so focused on the now harmless main character?
He either lost someone important to her or related to her.
Or hr can't let the past go, and thinks she's still dangerous just because she used to be.

Honestly, the only things that could make her dangerous again would be harming her family, which includes the sweet human girl.
