It seems like you have an axe to grind. Certainly, I know how frustrating it is to have people make constant incorrect assumptions about one's sexuality, but the people in the comments here are just expressing their own personal enjoyment of a work of fiction.

@icekatze : I don't much care for shippers. The notion that everyone in fiction has to be paired off (how it usually plays out with shippers) and can't be friends is absurd. And I especially don't care for shippers targeting characters I have a personal interest in and trying to pair them off with other inferior characters for little or no reason whatsoever... Probably because they have fucking on their mind and only define success in terms of whether or not interaction leads to sex.
If characters get together eventually then it'll happen in its own time. And if they don't then that is fine too. Better even, in this case.
My personal enjoyment of this story practically REQUIRES Merii to stay single... ergo I will directly oppose any whose overt goals are mutually exclusive of that end.
