God I hate helicopter moms, or stuck up moms like her. Slapping your kid and having your kid bow without any feeling, so cold.

Glad the MC didn't get F'D, he has influence with the higher ups(he is a corporate dog). He made progress with his daughter, seeing some part of the story why she resents him.
The dad could have tried harder with her when the mom died, but he was working expecting her to move on.
